Orthophos XG 3D Cone Beam
What does the Sirona's Orthophos XG 3D Cone Beam do?
Sirona 3D imaging with new Cone Beam technology goes beyond traditional diagnostics and treatment capabilities by calculating a large volume 3D image set, more than 200 exposures, in a single low-dose 3D scan of 15 seconds or less. The Orthophos not only shows 3D displays in perfect image quality, but also enables clear navigation and diagnosis in the traditional panoramic, cephalometric and cross-sectional displays.
Does this Machine Emit a Great Amount of Radiation?
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) allows 3-D visualization of the oral and maxillofacial complex from any plane. The 14 second scan offers a large volume for every display type – 3D, panorama, CEPH, and cross sectional (TSA) slices with smaller radiation than that produced by medical CT. The radiation is the equivalent of 4 bitewings.
Orthophos XG 3D not only shows 3D displays in perfect image quality, but also enables more complete navigation and diagnosis than the traditional 2D x-ray films. For our practice, the Orthophos XG 3D Dental Cone Beam solution offers:
- • Low Radiation dose (less than a full mouth series of intraoral film)
- • A quick comprehensive scan of the complete oral-maxillofacial area (14 seconds)
- • Immediate virtual diagnosis and treatment planning in one visit
- • More certainty during surgery
- • Easy sharing of images and diagnostic information with referring doctors
In Other Words
The Orthophos XG 3D is a safer approach to diagnostics with impeccable accuracy and detail. The detail enabled by the 3D technology opens up the door for greater diagnosis than there has ever been before, which allows us to detect dental pathologies that we might not see with traditional radiographs.
Dr. Evan Krause is trained in placing implants. He will use the Orthophos XG 3D to create custom surgical guides, which he will use for insertion of the implants. Dr. Evan will use the imaged scans to map out the nerves and other anatomical structures, and with this information he can plan the perfect postitioning for an implant. There is no guesswork in the placement of implants with this technology.
